Worth a deeper look: Recordings of the presentations on the 1st Online Conference on Virtual and Digital Storytelling

Last Thursday I was not only mildly nervous, having 3 minutes left before my online-presentation at the 1st Online Conference on Virtual and Digital Storytelling (VIS).
(We talked about VIS in more detail in our blog here and here.)

Just mildly nervous I would have been, if the format had been in German, and if the audience and me had been together in one real room.
But this time everything was different: I was speaking – in English… – in a little webcam in my homeoffice and I was adressing around 60 participants from various European countries. They saw me and my slides at their screens somewhere in Europe and listened to my presentation about Knowledge Transfer and Storytelling in Organizations: „What fish are swimming in the pond and how to catch them?„. (For the recording of my presentation see the 3rd slot at 01:01:23)

This was very exciting, not only because of the (for me) new virtual format. It was exciting to listen to the other presenters – they introduced different facets of Storytelling in the context of Learning-Settings and thus mostly were Professors at European Universities.
One fantastic highlight was the keynote of Joe Lambert, the Founder of the Center for Digital Storytelling, Berkeley, USA – he talked about the „7 stages of story“ and narrative therapy and it was very facscinating to listen to his presentation. (We wrote about this remarkable model in our (german) blog here)

Thank you very much to the Scientific Commitee and to the Organizators at FFHS (Fernfachhochschule Schweiz) for the very interesting and exciting conference!
